UBC Museum of Anthropology Provincial Teacher PD Day, Oct 19

The Museum of Anthropology presents a full day of enriching lectures, presentations, and tours for elementary and secondary teachers. The professional development day at MOA is aimed at not only introducing teachers to the museum, but also to get teachers familiar with the programs and resources that the museum has to offer. Teachers will learn about MOA in-house and outreach school programs from the Education Curator and Education Volunteers. A special presentation by Miquel and Mike Dangeli, First Nations artists and performers, will give educators ideas of how to integrate Aboriginal arts into their teaching, and two Vancouver teachers will present their museum and classroom based creative projects. The aim of the day is to be exposed to various ways classroom educators can creatively interact with the Museum.
