McCord Museum of Canadian History

The McCord Museum is a public research and teaching museum dedicated to the preservation, study, diffusion and appreciation of Canadian history. The collection contains over 1,375,000 objects, images and manuscripts, irreplaceable reflections of the social history and material culture of Montreal, Quebec and Canada - a true source of inspiration. The McCord reaches out to the world by exploring contemporary issues and engaging with communities at the local, national and international level to further the appreciation and understanding of our heritage. Currently, the "Keys to History" digital on-line collection - including a collaboration with seven other museums - is made up of 135,000 images of artifacts that are available for viewing in both languages. The on-line educational program EduWeb recommends many ways of using on-line resources and also suggests several Web activities linked to curricula.
