Join noted historian Daniel Francis for a preview of his forthcoming book, Closing Time: Prohibition, Rum-runners & Border Wars. The book follows the story of North American prohibition from a Canadian perspective, describing our country’s own short-lived ban on alcohol during World War I and the federal and provincial governments’ attempts to control the social habits of Canadians. Smugglers, gangsters, and bootleggers abound.
