The ASA would like to announce that registration for its workshop Planning and Designing Archival Exhibits is open. 

Planning and Designing Archival Exhibits

Dates: September 27 - 28, 2013

Location: Room 520D, Taylor Family Digital Library, University of Calgary, Calgary, AB

Instructors: Kevin Zak and Joanne White

Description: This 2-day workshop will explore various aspects of exhibit planning and design with a special focus on the unique concerns of displaying archival material. Aspects to be explored include storyline development and label writing, effectively using colour and lighting and planning your space. Safe materials and mounts for archival display will also be addressed along with some hands on activities. The instructors, who have both created exhibits with archival materials, will provide you with the necessary tools to execute an exhibit from the early planning phase to post-exhibit evaluation.

Class size: 12 (minimum) / 20 (maximum)

Cost: $200 (member) / $250 (non-member) (please note that expenses related
to providing this workshop result in this one-time workshop fee)
