Approaching the Past
Approaching the Past began in June 2010 as a quarterly workshop series in Toronto, Ontario focused on bringing together people who work in middle and high schools, universities, and museums to discuss teaching history in a variety of contexts.
The goal of the series is to create and strengthen ties between history educators in the Greater Toronto Area. Workshops offer the opportunity to connect with colleagues, meet people teaching history in unique and engaging ways, and be challenged to teach history in ways that connect more deeply with students and the general public.
Approaching the Past is sponsored by The History Education Network and includes a board made up of members of various history education institutions within the Toronto area. We welcome suggestions for future workshop topics, speakers and venues. To make a suggestion or for more information, contact Rose Fine-Meyer.
