A graduate of Queen’s University (History) and the University of Ottawa (Education), and an accredited educator with the Ontario College of Teachers, Laura has worked in classrooms and with historical organizations like The Historica-Dominion Institute, Heritage Toronto and Doors Open Toronto. Her field of interest is Canadian history, particularly Canadian military history, memory and commemoration. She is co-author of The 175 Best Camp Games: A Handbook for Leaders (Boston Mills Press, 2009) and has her own blog, Blackboard Battlefield, which explores subjects related to history and education.
