I am a PhD Researcher investigating the links between oral and spoken argumentation.  I am working with History teachers and post 16 History students (A level candidates) to help them write more effective arguments in their History essays.  This isn't just to help History students get better grades although that is useful - it is also to help them develop their thinking skills and to gain confidence in their ability to work independently.

I am an experienced History and Politics teacher and work with PGCE students at the University of Exeter and have been involved in CPD workshops at the University of Bristol
