Jan Haskings-Winner enseigne au Toronto District School Board. Pendant plus de 30 ans, elle a enseigné dans de nombreuses écoles et communautés en Malaisie, dans le nord et le centre de l’Ontario et à Toronto. Actuellement présidente ancienne de l’Ontario History and Social Sciences Teachers' Association (OHASSTA), elle a siégé à son conseil d’administration pendant six ans. De 2005 à 2008 et au cours de l’année 2009-2010, elle a été déléguée au Pre-Service Teacher Education program à l’Ontario Institute for Studies in Education de la University of Toronto (OISE/UT) pour y enseigner l’histoire aux étudiants de la formation des maîtres. Jan enseigne également aux universités Queen's et Lakehead dans leurs programmes de formation continue pour les enseignants en histoire et sciences sociales.
En plus de ses publications dont vous trouverez la liste plus bas, Jan collabore à Exemplars in Historical Thinking: 20th Century Canada (2008) et à la rédaction de programmes pour le ministère de l’Éducation de l’Ontario et le Toronto District School Board, incluant le nouveau programme Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity.
