My research work examines the ways in which women's narratives entered the Ontario secondary school curriculum beginning in the 1960s. I look at both formal curriculum documents but also the work of teachers, historians, women's organizations and publishers who actively worked towards the inclusion of women into history and social science classes in Ontario. My other work involves expanding local history programs in secondary schools in Canada. In 2005, I wrote an Interdisciplinary course for senior level students called "Archives and Local history" which is currently begin taught at a number of schools in Ontario.
