Interests:
My research interests include environmental history, public memory, history education and museum studies. My dissertation research explores the social and environmental history of the Don River in Toronto. Over the course of my research I have become increasingly interested in the use of historical GIS in communicating information about the past across disciplines and in multiple venues. A recent collaboration with the University of Toronto Map Library has resulted in a GIS project on the history of the Don Valley. The results of our research, including downloadable GIS files and historical maps, is available here:
