The Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology at Simon Fraser University is accepting applications for a Curator of Archaeology, Research and Collections Care and Management (2 positions) and Archivist, Digital Collections Research, Care and Management (1 position). Closing Date: May 5th, 2014.These volunteer and service learning placements at the Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology are one year volunteer positions for individuals considering careers in museum work. The program is open to recent graduates, undergraduates and graduate-level students of all majors. All positions are part-time and unpaid.

The position relates theory to practice through practical experience in a field of interest. Projects can be completed in research, collections management, exhibit development, web design and education.

The typical weekly cycle includes seminars and weekly project planning and update meetings. Research Associates are encouraged to attend the regular Archaeology Graduate Seminars on Thursday afternoons and other special events and guest lectures that form a large part of our academic experience.
