REGINA — Home to approximately 19,000 civic artifacts, including Canada’s first ATM and one of the few remaining buffalo hide presses that still exists, the Civic Museum of Regina will be closing its doors.

Originally opened in 1959 as the Regina Plains Museum, the board of directors made the announcement Friday morning, stating it is “unable to meet financial obligations,” despite working with the City of Regina to avoid closure for several years.
