Call for Book Reviews and Articles: The Chronicle of Historical Studies (CHS)

The Chronicle of Historical Studies (CHS), formerly the Red River Valley Historical Journal, invites the submission of book reviews and articles for publication in upcoming issues. Reviews are solicited on books which may encompass any historical topic, era, or geographic region of the world. The CHS publishes articles of general interest to the academy.

Reviews should be 750-1200 words in length. Authors may submit book reviews via email attachment. The review should be double-spaced and saved as a Word or Rich Text Format (RTF). A list of books available for review can be found on the journal website at http://www.swhist.org/bksforrev.pdf

If interested in reviewing books for the CHS, send a current vita and include your primary fields of interest.

Articles should be 7,000-12,000 words in length. Authors are required to send two typed, double-spaced copies of the manuscript to the address below. A self-addressed, stamped envelope should be included if the manuscript is to be returned. The author's name, mailing address, email address and telephone number should appear on the title page and nowhere else in the manuscript. Notes should appear as endnotes using the Chicago Manual of Style. Once the manuscript has been accepted for publication, authors will be required to provide the CHS an electronic copy in WordPerfect or Word’s Rich Text Format (RTF).
