The SCAA is pleased to offer a one-day workshop that give an introduction to media collections and to take the edge off the sometimes intimidating learning curve of media. Through lecture and demonstration, participants will gain an understanding of the topics of -
• Moving Image Film: gauge, base, soundtracks, stocks, biological and mechanical damage, shrinkage, and splices;
• Video: formats, access (playback), biological and mechanical damage (dropout), storage conditions;
• Sound Recordings: formats, access (playback), biological and mechanical damage, storage conditions;
• Digital Media: formats, migration, storage options.

Maximum Attendees: 25

Workshop Fees: $100 registration fee. Lunch will be provided
