Public Lecture:

“Local, National, and Transnational Histories of Immigration to the Americas”

Public Roundtable Discussion:

“The Mosaic vs. the Melting Pot? Myths and Realities of Cultural Pluralism in Canada and the United States”

Dr. Randy Widdis, Professor of Geography, University of Regina.

Dr. Patricia Burke Wood, Professor of Geography and Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs, York University.

Dr. Roberto Perin, Professor of History at Glendon College and York University.

Time: Friday, October 19. 4 pm – 6 pm.

These events are part of a workshop taking place on October 19 and 20 that deals with borderlands, transnationalism, and migration in North America. The event brings together twenty-seven historians and historical geographers working at several Canadian and American universities. The event is hosted by the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies and will be held at Glendon College, York University.
