Get ready to drink some good coffee! The annual meeting of the History of Education Society will take place in Seattle, Washington at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, November 1-4, 2012. The conference program will feature a Book Exhibit, a tour of significant historical sites, many interesting and exciting panels including a few by our newest scholars, graduate students, senior scholars in the field, and our Presidential Address by Dr. Karen Graves of Dennison University!
Seattle is known for its coffee, seafood, lakes, parks and mountains, but also for its rain! It is where the original Starbucks is located. Additionally, it is the home of the world famous Space Needle which is celebrating its 50th year! The 605 foot tower was built as part of the 1962 State Fair. In Seattle, there is Pike Place Market and so many great restaurants and other wonderfulthings to do and see like the home of Microsoft developer, Bill Gates But, you will need a place to stay!
Our conference will be held at the historic Fairmont Olympic Hotel. It is located at 411 University Street. Or if you prefer, please just call the hotel. Be sure to register under the History of Education Society. We have a limited number of rooms. The deadline for hotel registration is September 31, 2012.
