&lt;p&gt;Penney Clark is Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy, Faculty of Education, University of British Columbia. Her research interests include history teaching and learning and curriculum in historical and political contexts. Her publications include articles in &lt;em&gt;History of Education Quarterly&lt;/em&gt;, the &lt;em&gt;Journal of Canadian Studies&lt;/em&gt;, the &lt;em&gt;Canadian Journal of Education&lt;/em&gt;, the &lt;em&gt;American Journal of Education&lt;/em&gt;, the &lt;em&gt;McGill Journal of Education&lt;/em&gt;, &lt;em&gt;Theory and Research in Social Education&lt;/em&gt; and &lt;em&gt;Papers of the Bibliographical Society of Canada&lt;/em&gt;. She was a contributor to the &lt;em&gt;History of the Book in Canada&lt;/em&gt; project, volumes Two and Three. She is currently conducting research on textbook production and provision in Ontario and British Columbia, 1846 to 2005, funded by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Standard Research Grant. She was also the 2006 recipient of the Marie Tremaine Fellowship from the Bibliographical Society of Canada.&lt;/p&gt;

She also held Nancy&amp;rsquo;s Chair in Women&amp;rsquo;s Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University (1996-1998). She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (1995), awarded the Queen&amp;rsquo;s Golden Jubilee Medal (2002) and the Queen&amp;#39;s Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012), and appointed Officer of the Order of Canada (2004) for her achievements in the writing and promotion of Canadian history.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

She has managed several projects related to social studies teaching and curriculum, and is the author of a Native language immersion program, &lt;em&gt;G&lt;u&gt;a&lt;/u&gt;ng&lt;u&gt;a&lt;/u&gt;n&lt;u&gt;a&lt;/u&gt;n&lt;u&gt;a&lt;/u&gt;masa K&lt;sub&gt;w&lt;/sub&gt;ak&lt;sub&gt;w&lt;/sub&gt;&lt;u&gt;a&lt;/u&gt;k&lt;u&gt;a&lt;/u&gt;&amp;rsquo;wak&lt;sub&gt;w&lt;/sub&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;i&gt; (&lt;/i&gt;&lt;em&gt;Children of All K&lt;sub&gt;w&lt;/sub&gt;ak&lt;sub&gt;w&lt;/sub&gt;ala-speaking People&lt;/em&gt;&lt;i&gt;) &lt;/i&gt;(Nimpkish Education Board 1991)&lt;i&gt;.&lt;/i&gt; She also wrote the elementary curriculum &lt;em&gt;First Nations Journeys of Justice &lt;/em&gt;(Law Courts Education Society of BC 1994) which won a Justice Achievement Award from the US National Association for Court Management in 1995. Her research interests include early relations between colonists and indigenous people in North America, and the history and consequences of language contact on this continent.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Her doctoral research examined how frameworks associated with the discourse on the pedagogy of historical thinking help conceptualize the experience of exhibition makers and museum visitors. Her study underscored the need for museums to consider their role as promoters of historical consciousness in fulfilling their educational mandate and maintaining their social relevance. Other research interests include intercultural curation, citizen-curation, and critical museology. She has been invited to speak at professional and academic conferences in Quebec, Norway, Sweden, the UK and the USA.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Jan Haskings-Winner is a teacher in the Toronto District School Board. She has taught for over 30 years in Malaysia, northern Ontario, central Ontario and Toronto in a variety of schools and communities. She is Past-President of the Ontario History and Social Sciences Teachers&amp;#39; Association (OHASSTA) and has been on its executive for eight years. She was seconded to teach history to teacher education students in the Pre-Service Teacher Education program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto (OISE/UT) from 2005-2008 and 2009-2010. Jan also teaches at Queen&amp;#39;s and Lakehead universities in their Additional Qualifications&amp;nbsp;continuing education programs for teachers in History and Social Sciences.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;	In addition to her publications listed below, Jan also contributed to &lt;em&gt;Exemplars in Historical Thinking: 20&lt;sup&gt;t&lt;/sup&gt;&lt;sup&gt;h&lt;/sup&gt; Century Canada&lt;/em&gt; (2008) as well as to curriculum writing projects for the Ministry of Education (Ontario) and the Toronto District School Board, including the &amp;quot;Genocide and Crimes against Humanity&amp;quot; course.&lt;br /&gt;
